Guacamaya, August 4, 2025. Venezuela’s oil exports in July were 727,000 barrels per day, 10% lower than the to 807,000 bpd in June, according to LSEG shipping data published by Reuters. This is not an unusual drop, as exports fluctuate by as much as 20% from month to month.
In July, China received 696,000 bpd or 95%, while the remaining 31,000 bpd went to Cuba, including crude, gasoline and jet fuel.
Reuters also reported that in the last week of July, just as the new Chevron license was being leaked to the press, the José Antonio Anzoátegui terminal, the largest in the country, emptied out almost completely.
Venezuela also exported 227,000 metric tonnes of oil byproducts and petrochemicals in July, in line with the previous month.
On August 1, CEO Mike Wirth said that Chevron is starting production in Venezuela as soon as this month, and that we will begin seeing exports to the U.S. in a “limited amount.”
