Guacamaya, September 18, 2025. High-ranking officials from Russia and Venezuela held bilateral consultations in Moscow to deepen the comprehensive strategic alliance between the two countries. Simultaneously, in Caracas, the National Assembly debated the Russia-Venezuela strategic partnership treaty, according to the agenda of the ordinary session this Thursday, amid heightened tensions with the United States.
Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Sergey Ryabkov, and Venezuela’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Andrea Corao, held consultations focused on developing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and Venezuela and on coordinating foreign policy in international scenarios. The parties also exchanged views on key aspects of the Latin American agenda.
The discussion outlined steps to strengthen cooperation in commercial, economic, scientific, technological, cultural, and humanitarian fields.
Russian diplomacy expressed “firm condemnation of attempts at interference and threats of the use of force against Venezuela,” reaffirmed its solidarity with the Venezuelan people, and ratified its full support for the efforts of Nicolás Maduro’s government to “defend national sovereignty in the face of increasing external pressures.” This comes amid U.S. military deployments in the Caribbean.
At the same time, in Caracas, the National Assembly debated the Russia-Venezuela strategic partnership treaty, in compliance with the agenda of the ordinary session this Thursday, thereby reinforcing the institutional and legislative dimension of bilateral cooperation.
