Campaign for the Governorship of Miranda Kicks Off with Proposals Across the Region

The “Palacio Amarillo” or “Yellow Palace,” the seat of government of the state of Miranda.

Guacamaya, April 29, 2025. This Tuesday, the electoral campaign for the upcoming legislative and regional elections officially began, with the main candidates for the Governorship of Miranda deploying activities and messages across different parts of the state. The elections are scheduled for May 25, and Miranda stands as one of the strategic strongholds.

This campaign unfolds amid a context marked by opposition debates over the decision to participate. Different factions clash between those who argue there are insufficient guarantees and those who insist on defending the right to vote. The diversity of opposition candidates, contrasted with the unity of the pro-government bloc, also reflects the fractures following July 28, further deepening polarization.

The event concluded with messages emphasizing the importance of maintaining governance and deepening popular and communal self-government.

Among Serrano’s key proposals are the recovery of public services and strengthening the education and healthcare systems. “Today, I come before you to say that my academic capacity, my political training, and my experience in public services are at the service of the people of Miranda. In his speech, Requesens emotionally recalled the days he spent in El Helicoide between 2018 and 2020, when he was imprisoned after being convicted of conspiracy. Here, everything goes up, but wages go down,” he said.

Under the slogan “Miranda Rises,” Ondarroa stated that no one knows what measures to expect by May 1, Workers’ Day, but whatever they are, they won’t solve the root problem. “Improvised measures bring crisis after crisis.
