Guacamaya, September 21, 2026. The reconfiguration of the Venezuelan labor market continues to gain momentum in 2026. Following this year’s political and economic events, the installation of the caretaker government and reforms aimed at boosting private investment, various international corporations are progressively reactivating their job offerings in different strategic sectors.
In this context of openness, the U.S. oilfield services giant Halliburton has begun to reopen operations and finalize new business in the country. In this regard, it has taken a firm step by updating its global careers platform, enabling specific postings for professionals and technicians in Venezuelan territory.
From the Talent Pool to the Active Operational Posting
Halliburton’s reactivation in the national labor market is evidenced by two key postings on its official jobs portal:
- General call to the talent network (Talent Pool): Published on September 4, 2026, under the name “Halliburton Venezuela Job Opportunities,” it is designed to collect information from entry-level and experienced applicants for future vacancies. The company is seeking profiles in various key areas:
- Newly graduated and experienced engineers in Oil and Gas
- Technicians and skilled trades
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

- Active posting in Monagas state: Published on September 8, 2026, the vacancy “Fishing and Drilling Maintenance Professional,” at the Maturín base, is responsible for preventive/corrective maintenance and diagnosis of electromechanical logging and drilling equipment. How to Apply and Activate Job Alerts by Email
Professionals interested in being part of Halliburton’s selection processes can go directly to the company’s careers website (jobs.halliburton.com).
To keep track of the vacancies that will gradually open up, the platform has a Job Alerts tool:
- Users can define personalized search criteria (by keyword, functional area, or location).
- By setting the desired frequency (for example, every 7 days) and registering their email address, the system will send automatic notifications each time a vacancy aligned with the selected profile is published.
Historical Presence and the Judicial Shift in the Oil Industry
Halliburton is the world’s second-largest oilfield services company and the first in the United States. In 2025, it reported revenue of 22 billion dollars and global assets of nearly 26 billion dollars. Its business focuses on selling technology, machinery, and specialized personnel so that oil companies can extract crude oil.
The corporation maintains a historical link with the country, where it operated uninterrupted from 1938 until it was forced to suspend its operations between 2019 and 2020 as a result of sanctions imposed by the U.S. administration.
That cessation led to severe legal disputes and labor lawsuits over the payment of benefits to former workers, which culminated in the seizure of its assets for 6.6 million dollars in Zulia state and in a claim filed by the company before ICSID in December 2025. However, the political board after the events of January 3, 2026, drastically changed the situation.
In February, Caracas canceled the auction of the assets; and then, at the end of July, the Social Cassation Chamber of the Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ) ruled the definitive return of the assets in Zulia and Monagas. With this, the reactivation of its operations would be ordered, considering them critical for the hydrocarbons industry and the country’s economic recovery.
