Guacamaya, September 30, 2026. The Argentine-capital company Aldyl Energía mobilized an H-108 workover rig to the Uverito field, in the Morichal Pesado block, continuing with its oil well reactivation campaign.
According to a company press release, the plan consists of reactivating 13 wells, starting with UV 208, inactive since 2014. Aldyl projects adding 1,100 additional barrels per day this year.
The H-108 rig, a Drillmec HH-102 unit, was completely refurbished after campaigns in Brazil and Argentina, according to Aldyl Energía. From a technical standpoint, the unit stands out for its high efficiency in cycle times and minimal operational footprint.
It features an automated hydraulic system, 560 HP main power, an 88-foot telescopic mast with a 100-ton capacity, and vertical pipe racks; the structure eliminates the need for anchors or a conventional setback area. Being self-transportable on wheels, the H-108 optimizes assembly times without requiring cranes or complex lifting maneuvers.
The Uverito field, in Monagas, has proven reserves of 9.554 billion barrels of heavy and extra-heavy crude. It is part of Morichal Pesado, where Aldyl Energía has been working since 2022, entering as a service provider. In 2025, it took over full operations through the CPP model, and has already invested 100 million dollars.
In July, Aldyl Energía announced the start of a campaign to reactivate 476 wells and drill another 79, with an investment of 20 million dollars.
According to the company, production went from around 700 barrels per day when it took over operations to reaching 16,885 barrels per day in September, and it has a goal of 80,000 barrels per day by the end of 2027.
